We can help by providing Skills for the Workforce, Funded Short Courses and Funding for the unemployed or those at risk of redundancy.

Skills for the Workforce

We have access to funding to provide specific training to upskill your workforce . An initiative co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency is now available to business’ across the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership area.

This offers your business a free training need analysis together which will look at the needs of your businesses and its future plans. Looking to upskill your workforce to enhance profitability, productivity and investment in your staff.

Our bespoke training can be a tailored to suit your business or you can choose employees to attend fixtured training courses with other small businesses which will in turn help promote your business and see how others do things.

DATC are able to offer both the Level 3 Award in Education in Training and the Level 4 certificate in Assuring the Quality of Assessment, funded through the SSW funding programme for residents/employers based in the Solent LEP.

We are able to offer these courses through remote learning or face to face when restrictions permit.

The Level 3 AET is suitable for anyone who wants to take the first steps into teaching adult learners and is suited to roles such as “Train the Trainer” or “Delivery Coach”. It can also be used to support becoming a qualified instructor for First Aid or Conflict Management.

The Level 4 Certificate in Assuring the Quality of Assessment is for people looking to take steps into a Quality Assurance role. You will need to have experience of Assessment to achieve this course and be able to work with your own cohort of learners.

Understanding Autism

Autism is a spectrum condition that affects how a person communicates with others and how they interpret the world around them. There are around 700,000 people in the UK with autism – more than 1 in every 100. Having a clear understanding of the misconceptions, diagnoses and support  surrounding autism are just some of the essential skills needed when working in mental health.

Course Content:

· Learn how individuals with autism process sensory information

· Understand the characteristics that may be present in individuals with autism

· Understand the conditions that commonly occur with autism

· Learn the common misconceptions surrounding autism

· Learn how speech, language and communication may differ in people with autism

· Recognise how legislation and guidance underpins support

Understanding Behaviour that Challenges

Challenging behaviour is causing increasing concern today, as many individuals have    increasing levels of stress and uncertainty in their lives. This behaviour can be due to factors such as anxiety, neglect, abuse, learning disabilities and conditions like dementia. Understanding the causes of challenging behaviour is the first step towards finding ways to support individuals and manage their behaviour.

Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health

Mental Health problems affect around 1 in 10 children and young  people. These issues include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder and can often be a direct response to occurrences in their lives. Emotional well-being is just as important as a child’s mental health; therefore it is  important for those working with children and young  people to have a good understanding of the  concepts, risk factors and impact of mental health.

Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent

Official data showed that over 7,500    people were referred to the Prevent programme in 2015/16. The purpose of this qualification is to support anyone who is responsible for the safeguarding of people and for helping prevent radicalisation. It gives learners an understanding of recognising the signs of abuse, how to reduce the risk radicalisation and the potential consequences of illegal online activity.

Funding for the unemployed or those at risk of redundancy

DA Training and Consultancy offer free qualifications for people who are unemployed or financially inactive, e.g. retired or not claiming state benefits. These qualifications will benefit you by preparing you for work and giving you the necessary skills for the workplace.
